Not a Cash Cow

The wait for a dementia assessment is long - far too long. And in that waiting, families break, patients lose precious time, and the nurses and doctors on the front line stretch themselves past human limits. Everyone is doing their best inside a system that is failing them.

Not a Cash Cow is sung by Nurse Jo, a character who speaks for countless real nurses and carers worn down by an underfunded, overstretched system that takes their compassion for granted.

It’s a protest song and also a demand for dignity - for patients, for families, and for the people who are trying to hold the system together.

Not a Cash Cow is composed by Tomas Barrios from Argentina and sung by the incredible Abigail Strickland, a powerfully expressive South African artist.
